State Parks & Preserves

There are 13 Washington State Parks, on or close to the Kitsap Peninsula. Each park is unique, with different amenities, but every park is on the water, with public access to our beaches!

You can look through the parks below, or go to our activity search and select the specific "things to do" category, such as "beach activities" and you'll find a list of the State Parks, as well as local parks, that have beach access.

You can also go to our camping/rv area and select specific amenities you are looking for and find the parks that meet your criteria.

75-acre marine camping park with 1,785 feet of saltwater frontage on Port Orchard Bay. The park has plenty of parking space, lots of fresh air, facilities for a number of outdoor activities and access to a variety of water sports.

Joemma Beach State Park
122-acre marine camping park with 3,000 feet of saltwater frontage on southeast Key Peninsula. Aside from the natural beauty of park and surroundings, the area is an excellent place for fishing, boating and crabbing.

Kitsap Forest - Washington State Natural Area Program
This 572-acre forested site on the Kitsap Peninsula became a natural area preserve in 1998. Mature and old growth douglas fir and western hemlock dominate this forest with rhododendron, evergreen huckleberry, and sword fern in the forest understory. This is one of the few extensive unlogged mature forests remaining in the central or southern Puget Trough ecoregion. The site also protects portions of Stavis Creek, which supports coho and chum salmon spawning grounds, a blue heron rookery, and nesting osprey.
