Pop-up Window Policy

With all of the annoying pop-up advertisements that are on so many websites, pop-up blocker software is becoming very popular.  This has become such a large issue that the latest release of Internet Explorer has pop-up blocking software built right into the program.  Pop-up blockers are soon to be a standard tool required for easily browsing the web.

The VisitKitsap.com site has a lot of information displayed in pop-up windows.  These pop-up windows are not advertisements, they are information about our members, events, lodging facilities, dining facilities, etc.  In every case, these pop-up windows will not be displayed unless the user clicks on a link requesting the information.

The general settings on most pop-up blockers allow these types of user-initiated windows to be displayed.  However, for those users with higher security settings in their pop-up blocking software, these types of windows can be prevented from opening.  To fully experience our website, we advise all users to use the standard security settings on their pop-up blocking software, or to manually permit all pop-ups windows from our website to display.

For more information on some of the most popular pop-up blocking software, click on the links below:

Thank you, and if you have any questions about pop-up windows and how they’re used on our website, please e-mail us at webmaster@VisitKitsap.com.
