The Slaughter County Roller Vixens are currently made up of 3 teams:

The Death Rattle Rollers can be recognized by their black uniforms and voodoo style. Usually found sporting their death rattles which are suspected to contain opponents teeth these girls are always looking for their next trophy. Although they are great skaters it's their proficiency at casting derby hexes such as the dreaded "Curse of the Fishnet Burn" that really sets them apart from other derby teams.

The Terrormedixxx are usually identified by their similarity to medical personnel in blue. However, upon closer inspection spectators will find that they actually resemble psychotic candy-stripers. Applying first-aid is the last thing on their minds as they terrorize the flat track administering their "medicine" to opponents they encounter. warning "medicine" may cause side effects such as falling down syndrome and broken face disease.

Of course there are times when the two league teams put their differences aside to kick butt outside of Kitsap County. When that is the case they send the All-Star team. The All-Stars are the finest in derby girl technology and they travel the countryside representing truth, justice, and a punch in the face.

5th Annual "Battle of the Sound"

Ice Hockey Tournament Starts January 15-17 at Bremerton Ice Arena

More sticks and pucks on ice in a series of four tournaments between January through March. These tournaments will bring teams from Oregon, British Columbia (Including Victoria Island), Idaho and throughout Washington.

January 15-17, 2010 Bantam (14U)- 12 teams-25 games

February 12-14, 2010 Midget (18U) 12 teams-25 games
March 19-21, 2010 Squirt (10U) 8 teams-17 games
March 26-28, 2010 Midget Part Deux (18U) 8 teams-17 games

Killerspin's Kitsap Open Table Tennis Match Featuring...

Biba Golic, "Queen of the Tables"

Called the "Anna Kournikova of table tennis, Biba challenges competitors from around the country for $6000 in prize money on the table. Don't miss the chance to see highly charged championship table tennis. No fees for admission. The Kitsap Open, a four-star table tennis tournament, is rated one of the finest in the country. The "Showdown" will be held at the Kitsap Pavilion, September 25 and 26. Watch for updates and follow the Showdown on Facebook.

Tomahawks On the Ice, January 14th

The Puget Sound Tomahawks face-off against the River City Jaguars from Oregon on January 14 at the Bremerton Ice Arena (BIA).

Warm-ups start at 7:00pm with the game start at 7:30pm.
Tickets: $7 each and food service is available.

The BIA is hosting five three-day tournaments featuring over fifty teams from around the US, including teams from British Columbia, California and Oregon. Let's roll out the Welcome mat for the visting teams around town in our local hotels and restaurants and show our support.

Kitsap Family YMCA Resolution Walk | Run Series

Did you make a resolution for 2010 to be more healthy and get fit?

What a great way to start out the new year with the Kitsap Family YMCA Resolution Series. Stick to your resolution through the winter months by walking or running through beautiful Bremerton.

The first of four events is this Sunday, January 3rd at 9am. Families welcome, it's open to all fitness levels and child watch services are available. There is a 5K or five mile option for all events. Meet at the YMCA annex building at 60 Magnuson Way, Bremerton.
