Bainbridge Arts and Crafts Calls for Artists, K-12

WE NEED ARTISTS!
Mixed Nuts: An Art Exhibition by Kids
February 6 – March 3

Mixed Nuts is a special exhibition that gives kids a chance to learn about how art galleries work and what it’s like to be a professional artist. Kids will also have a chance to sell their work! They’ll sign a contract, write an artist statement, exhibit their work in the gallery for a month, and it will be for sale. If the work sells, the student keeps 50% of the selling price just like all our artists and the gallery gets a 50% commission. BAC’s entire commission will go to the Bainbridge Island public schools as part of our annual grants to the art departments.

On two Saturdays, December 6 and January 3, the Gallery’s Education Director, Victoria Josslin, will be at the Gallery from 10:30 to 4:30 to talk with kids about art and to answer questions about how galleries work. Drop in and say hi! Or call Victoria at 842.3132 and make an appointment.

For more information and for an entry form, come into the Gallery, visit our website, http://www.bacart.org/education.html, or see BAC’s pages in the December issue of Currents.

The Gallery (BAC), a nonprofit visual arts organization, exists to advance creative achievement, to provide educational opportunities and to exhibit fine arts and crafts of regional artists for the community.
