FARM KITCHEN - Saturday Breakfast for October 4, 2008
Happy harvest and pumpkin season; the Farm Kitchen kitty Underfoot says boo! October is blowing in – in true fall form – as we approach the weekend. A tent will protect you from the elements while you have a chance to enjoy the last hurrah of the dahlias during Breakfast on Saturday. If you would like to take a virtual tour of more of the flowers, link to the website of our friend Dan Coppersmith who visited in late summer and captured the magic of the Farm Kitchen gardens. On Saturday the Featured Breakfast will warm you from the inside out. It includes our Farm Kitchen fresh “from scratch” Southern Biscuits, Scrambled Eggs, a slice of juicy Country Ham, Roasted Potatoes and Fresh Fruit. And as a very special treat this week, during Breakfast we will enjoy the acoustic fiddle, guitar and other strings of Carmen and Friends. She’s an old (young) friend and freshly-minted zoologist, just back from the far north Canadian woods after a summer of tracking bears and cougars (oh my)! You can decide if the rhythms of the wild can be heard in Carmen’s bluegrass fiddle. Special Pastries this Saturday include these favorites for “now or later”:
Blueberry Lemon Twists- a light lemon-zested dough with two dollops of blueberries
Pecan Sticky Buns – also available in a 4-pack to go
Apple Puff Pastry – fresh organic apples from the farm, baked in a light and puffy pastry, of course!
Chocolate Chip Cookies – the always yummy Farm Kitchen favorite for kids of all ages
For those who are planning their holiday schedule already, the dates for the Gingerbread House Parties are posted on our Events page. Sign-ups will start on November 1st for your preference of the four sessions offered this year at this great holiday family traditional party time. But not to rush the season, we hope to see you Saturday! Hollis, Anne, Rafir, and the Farm Kitchen CrewFarm Kitchen24309 Pt. Gamble Rd, Poulsbo, WA. 98370www.farmkitchen.com360-297-6615
