Saturday Breakfast for May 3, 2008
We all know how farms come alive with new young things in the springtime. So in the interest of urging spring weather on, Hollis got in the spirit recently by “birthing” her newest addition in the Farm Kitchen favorite-breads family. Everyone had so much fun at the March Rustic Breads class that the bread-starter bigas were kept growing & producing during April. (If this sounds like Greek, you may want to sign up for the next Rustic Breads class on October 19th). Then Hollis just couldn’t resist; she created a new recipe with some of her favorite Mediterranean flavors…and in the process, produced a new whole wheat bread so tasty that several early testers say they were compelled to enjoy a half loaf for their dinner. Odds are that you’ll like it too! We’ll have the new “Red Barn Bread” available at this Saturday’s Breakfast on May 3. It’s May you say! While the occasional hail and snow flurries make us all question it, the fruit trees are blossoming, and some valiant buds have unfurled their protective covers. We’re planning on warmer times on Saturday, so hope you’ll join us for Breakfast. This week the Featured Breakfast includes our Farm Kitchen Rosemary Apple Sausage served with Scrambled Eggs, Roasted Potatoes, a Yummy Orange Roll and Fresh Fruit.
Special Pastries this Saturday include these favorites:
Cherry Twists- a cherry pastry baked in a large twist of cinnamon dough
Yummy Orange Rolls- available in a group-pleasing 4-pack
Lemon Pie Bites – that “bring on the sunshine” favorite personal-size pie
Farm Kitchen “Red Barn Bread” – the just-created but soon-to-be classic whole wheat rustic bread brimming with flavor and special secret ingredients
Banana Walnut Bread – moist and delicious, the loaves freeze well too
Chocolate Chip Cookies – the extra large Farm Kitchen favorite
