$6 tix are good both days

“The tickets are good for both days,” said Josephine’s Redeemed Revival owner Sam Smith. “We really want people to enjoy their time there. Every vendor restocks Friday night, so it’s like a new show on Saturday.”

With more than 50,000 square feet of exhibit space on one level, the event is the biggest vintage market on the Kitsap Peninsula and the perfect starting point for a weekend getaway.

“Kitsap is a hidden gem for the vintage world,” said Smith. In addition to attending the show, she suggests touring the Kitsap Peninsula’s outstanding lineup of vintage stores, including Uptown Mercantile in Bremerton, Found and Red Plantation in Poulsbo and her own Josephine’s Redeemed Revival in Port Orchard. Go to Visit Kitsap Peninsula’s website for lodging ideas, restaurant suggestions and even more things to do.

Adding to the fun at the spring vintage event are live music and a wide variety of food vendors, including Fisher Original Fair Scones, a popular favorite at Northwest fairs for more than a 100 years. Treat yourself to one with whipped butter and raspberry jam or take a baker’s dozen home or back to your hotel room. Other food options include gourmet sandwiches, Philly cheese steak, barbecue, coffee and hamburgers.

Phoebe’s Keen Junk

Smith personally selects the vintage show’s vendors based on the quality of the merchandise and artistry of the displays. Here are a few of her favorites:

Atomic Aqua, Spokane – If you love Mid-Century Modern design, make a beeline for this vendor. “They have the best collection of all things MCM,” said Smith. What to look for: Lighting, draperies, furniture and servingware.

Phoebe’s Keen Junk, Snohomish Smith calls this seller’s distinctive look farmhouse industrial and promises it will inspire the decorating voice inside of you. What to look for: Simple, unique pieces that are equally at home in industrial, farmhouse or Mid-Century Modern settings.

Farm and Frills, Enumclaw – Like grandma’s house, only better, Farm and Frills offers up a fine collection of farmhouse vintage items, including tables, cabinets and pottery. What to look for: Furnishings that are simple, beautiful and functional. More info here.
