Mariners ex-pitcher to speak on Bainbridge
Bill Krueger, former Seattle Mariners pitcher and currently a Fox Sports Net broadcaster, will be one of the keynote speakers at the Healthy Living Expo on Bainbridge Island on Jan. 30. The fifth annual event is sponsored by the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce and is an interactive trade show with exhibits, presentations and demonstrations.
Learn about safety, weight loss, cancer prevention; get a free screening; taste healthy foods in the food court. A new feature this year will present local restaurants, wineries, grocery amd specialty stores offering samples of healthy food and beverages.
Bring the kids, too — there will be special activities just for them including the opportunity to watch Kitsap Pumas Professional Soccer team’s players and coaches in action. The Pumas will talk about training, techniques and equipment and give aspiring young players the opportunity to get a taste for the sport.
Kruger will speak about the effect of autism on children. His presentation will include a panel of physicians who understand autism. He will also share his thoughts about the Mariners 2010 season.
The expo is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 at Woodward Middle School.
