Downtown Port Orchard Bay Street Association launches NEW website

Port Orchard's Bay Street Association has launched a new website: www.DowntownPortOrchard.com.

The new site highlights Lodging, Dining, Things to Do, Services and other information on the downtown area of Port Orchard.

Port Orchard’s identity is anchored in its connections to the past. Originally a booming lumber town called Sidney, Port Orchard became Kitsap County’s first incorporated city in 1890. It wooed the county seat away from Port Madison on Bainbridge Island in 1893 and remains the center of county government.

The city is located just south of Bremerton across the Sinclair Inlet and the passenger-only ferry, known as the "foot ferry", links the two cities.

Downtown Port Orchard offers a variety of shopping including antiques, gifts and crafts, and a variety of dining options.

Arriving by water, you'll find a large public marina making Port Orchard a favored boating destination. Marina Park, with its boardwalk and covered gazebo, offers beach access and is the site of the summer outdoor Farmer's Market.

Winter 2007 Specials & Packages on the Kitsap Peninsula

The Kitsap Peninsula has a wide range of specials for the winter season.

It does get a bit quieter on the peninsula in the "off" season; there are fewer people walking the beaches, not as many visitors at the museums, children are in school, galleries are quiet . . . what's wrong with that! This is a great time to take a ferry and head for the Kitsap Peninsula - just far enough to get away!

Check out the specials page - you'll find specials through March as well as some specifically for Valentine's Day!
