Made in Kitsap - Ben J. Dykstra Furniture

Hidden away throughout the Kitsap Peninsula are craftsmen, artists, and a variety of small businesses producing items "Made in Kitsap"; items that aren't found in malls across the country, items that are unique, hand crafted and not mass produced.

To explore the unique offerings of the Kitsap Peninsula, start with our "Made in Kitsap" section of the VisitKitsap.com website.

The newest entry to the "Made in Kitsap" section is Ben J. Dykstra Furniture. Ben creates handcrafted country style furniture and Windsor chairs with a sense of timeless value.

Each piece of furniture is custom built using time-honored joinery techniques. He specializes in country style and antique reproductions — designs both traditional and enduring.

His chairs are all individually handmade using only specialized hand tools and methods that were implemented almost 200 years ago. They should last centuries, much like the original Windsor chairs that are now cherished antiques.

This is just one example of what can be found in "Made in Kitsap".
